Podiatry specialties
Orthopedics is the medical science that focuses on the treatment and rehabilitation of diseases and abnormalities of the musculoskeletal system of the foot. So it is the part of podiatry that tries to place the foot in an optimal operating position.
Orthopedics focuses on the treatment of foot conditions through the design and manufacture of insoles or plantar supports, the former being intended more for the discharge and rebalancing of plantar pressures, and the latter more to modify the position or movements of the foot, such as alterations in standing infantile plane. As each person has their own morphology (weight, height, age …) the treatments will always be individualized.
In the early stages of life is when the musculoskeletal structures are consolidating and sometimes need external help, such as plantar orthosis to keep these structures in a correct position during their development. Early diagnosis of pathologies such as flat feet, Genu Valgo, Genu Varo, or Equino-Varo foot, toe deviations and their correct treatment through exercises and plantar supports, can help to prevent problems during the age of adult as metatarsal overload, HAV ((bunions) toes in claw, back pain, knee pain. With a checkup at the feet of children from the age of 5 you will be able to avoid future diseases or malformations.
