Simple febrile seizures do not recur within a 24-hour period and are not specific to one part of the body. complex febrile seizures This type lasts longer than 15 minutes, occurs more than once in 24 hours, or is limited to one side of your child&#8217;s body.<\/p><p>Febrile seizures occur most often within 24 hours of the start of the fever and may be the first sign that the child is sick. They are usually very common, especially between the first and fifth years of age due to brain immaturity. They are usually benign episodes, requiring no treatment.
