not really varicose veins. These are the so-called spider veins. These blood vessels are too small to cause pain or other discomfort, nor do they cause disease; however, people who present them suffer the painful situation of having such an unsightly effect on their legs every day.<\/p><p>Sclerotherapy is a safe and quite effective method in the cosmetic treatment of this problem. It is<br>performed in the office on an outpatient basis, within 20-30 minutes, and is virtually painless&nbsp;Immediately upon completion, the treated person returns to his or her normal life without restrictions.<\/p><p>Sclerotherapy is a treatment that consists of the injection of a drug specially designed to cause a controlled lesion inside the vein that we want to eliminate. The inflammation produced by this substance, together with the use of a compressive stocking during the following days, makes the vein repair itself in a definitive way as if we had used glue. Since the tiny spider veins we treat in this way do not perform any important function, this procedure achieves its cosmetic objective in a safe way for the patient.<\/p><p>Sometimes varicose veins are not only an aesthetic problem, but are also associated with clinical symptoms. Sclerotherapy is the treatment for many of these varicose veins and consists of injecting into the vein a sclerosing product that closes the treated vein.<\/p><p>Percutaneous treatment of truncular varicose veins by mechanical-chemical ablation : Nowadays,<br>we have many minimally invasive procedures to treat varicose veins depending on the main veins<br>(internal and external saphenous vein). The technique of mechanical-chemical ablation consists of the use of a catheter that is introduced (in the vein using local anesthesia and produces a sclerosis (closure) of the vein by a sclerosing agent and producing damage to the vessel wall.
